A great new twist on a pizza by adding a ricotta cheese base and smoked turkey.
  • 2 cups of cooked smoked turkey breast, cubed
  • 1 cup of ricotta cheese
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 batch of pizza dough, prepared
  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 475 degrees with a pizza stone inside, if you have one. During this time, prepare your ingredients.
  2. Roll out your pizza dough to about a 12 inch pie. Once the oven is preheated, place it on your pizza stone, and cook for about 5 minutes or so, until it par cooks. If it begins to bubble up, poke the air pocket with a fork. After about 5 minutes, slide out the stone a bit on your rack. Brush on the olive oil, then spread on the garlic. Place back in the oven and cook for about 3 more minutes. Remove, then spoon on the ricotta, spreading it all over the dough.
  3. Top the ricotta cheese with the smoked turkey, then the mozzarella cheese. Slide back into the oven and cook until the mozzarella cheese is nice and bubbly.
  4. Remove the pizza from the stone and onto your pizza sheet. Slice and serve.
  5. Before biting into it you get this subtle smoke smell from the turkey that is just exciting in itself, then when you bite into it, you get this garlic creaminess, along with the pull from the mozzarella cheese, and the chunks of smoked turkey. It's great. It's a whole new take on pizza, and to me, I love that. If you have any leftover smoked turkey leftover, go ahead and give this pizza a shot. Simple and delicious.
